Our Impact

Real projects. Real outcomes. Tracked the whole way.

Every project below shows what was needed, what was done, and what it achieved — because that's the standard we hold every project on The Impact Conduit to.

Case Study 1

Iftar Sponsorship, Kampala, Uganda

March 2026

The Situation

A connection made by chance in Malaysia became a bridge across borders. Dr. Adam Musa, a PhD graduate of IIUM-ISTAC, was someone the team had gotten to know during his time as a student — long before either side knew it would lead to a project together. Through that relationship, a need emerged: a mosque congregation in Kampala, Uganda, needed support to sustain iftar (the breaking of fast) during Ramadan.

The Approach

Funds were raised in Malaysia and channeled to Kampala to cover 8 consecutive days of iftar sponsorship — covering the raw ingredients needed to cook for the congregation each evening: fuel, meat, tomatoes, onions, rice, cooking oil, milk, spices, dates, and bananas.

What Was Delivered

  • RM5,949 raised in Malaysia
  • 8 consecutive days of iftar sponsorship funded
  • 150 people attending each day — 1,200 villagers reached across the full sponsorship period

The Outcome

This is the conduit model working exactly as intended — not a generic donation to an unfamiliar cause overseas, but a real connection, made in Malaysia, that turned into a fully tracked, ingredient-by-ingredient sponsorship reaching a specific congregation thousands of kilometres away. Proof that being "the conduit" isn't limited by geography — it's limited only by whether the connection exists.

Preloved Book Donation Drive, 2023

2023

The Situation

Many schools — including some recovering from the Pahang floods — have limited access to age-appropriate reading material, particularly storybooks and non-textbook reading for younger pupils.

The Approach

Preloved books were collected and sorted by age group and reading level, then delivered directly to two schools and a kindergarten across Mentakab and Kuantan, Pahang — reaching pupils from kindergarten age through secondary school with material suited to each stage.

What Was Delivered

  • More than 700 books donated across three institutions in Mentakab and Kuantan
  • Storybooks and reading material for kindergarten and younger primary pupils
  • A wider range of books, sorted into boxes and bins, for secondary students

The Outcome

Three institutions, two districts, one coordinated effort — proof that "social development" isn't only about emergency relief. Sustained access to books is the kind of support that compounds over years, not just in the moment it's given.

En Syam post his surgery procedure in Kuantan, Pahang, supported by his lovely wife.

The Situation

While visiting flood-affected households in Maran and Temerloh with local authorities, the team met En Syam — a hard labourer raising a young family, whose son had narrowly been saved from being swept up in the flood. En Syam himself had a visual impairment requiring cataract surgery, but had never had the funds to go through with it. Without intervention, this is the kind of need that often goes unmet for years — not from lack of willingness to help, but from lack of connection between the people who could help and the people who needed it.

The Approach

Funds were raised specifically for En Syam's surgery, and transport was arranged to and from Kuantan — the nearest city with the facilities for the procedure. The surgery was performed at Asia Eye Specialist Centre, where Dr. Mohanarasan Ratanam oversaw the procedure with great care and ensured En Syam was well looked after throughout. His wife accompanied him for the trip.

What Was Delivered

  • Funds raised for cataract surgery
  • Round-trip transportation to Kuantan for the procedure
  • Support for his wife to accompany him throughout

The Outcome

A need that had gone unaddressed for years was resolved within one coordinated trip — made possible only because local authorities could connect a need on the ground to people willing to help. This is the case for why The Impact Conduit exists: contributions made without local connection and physical presence rarely become more than transactional. Real help means community leaders bridging non-local donors to the people who actually need them — and taking the time to know the families behind the need, not just the request.

Case Study 3

Pahang Floods, 2021–2023

2021–2023

The Situation

Pahang flooded again in 2021, 2022, and 2023, this time requiring not just supplies but physical cleanup and recovery work.

The Approach

Relief scaled beyond item donation: renting equipment (including a water jet) to clear mud, organising house-cleaning teams of university student volunteers, and coordinating directly with local authorities and the police, who connected the effort to village heads and local government officers on the ground.

What Was Delivered

  • Backhoe rental to clear mud from affected properties
  • Water jet and cleaning tools for flood-damaged homes
  • A volunteer team of university students for hands-on house cleaning in Bentong
  • A roof secured for a homeless man, made possible through local access

The Outcome

RM25,000 raised, reaching 300 households across the affected districts — and because the relief was coordinated through local authorities, it extended beyond the flood response itself to specific people with specific needs that a generic donation drive would have missed entirely.

The Situation

Local community members and authorities in Maran knew of Tuan Deraman's situation — an elderly man living alone, with little means to support himself. Despite his circumstances, he's known for his strength, his warmth, and a smile that greets every visit.

The Approach

Letting people into your home isn't a small thing, but Tuan Deraman was welcoming from the start. With support from local authorities, his home was given a quiet refresh — replacing worn-out items with new ones suited to his daily life.

What Was Delivered

  • Two shelving units
  • A new mattress and bedsheets
  • A stand fan
  • Lunch together — time spent simply being present, not just delivering items

The Outcome

Not every story here is about urgent crisis response. Some are about consistency, presence, and the relationships built one visit at a time — proof that you don't need a long acquaintance to spend quality time with someone who needs it.

Case Study 4

Pahang Floods, 2020–2021

2020–2021

The Situation

Flooding hit several districts across Pahang in 2020 and 2021, leaving affected households without basic essentials.

The Approach

Rather than collecting generic donations, item lists were curated directly with village heads and local authorities first — so what was sourced matched exactly what was requested. This avoided the duplication and waste that often follows uncoordinated relief efforts.

What Was Delivered

  • Mattresses
  • Gas stoves
  • Kain batik
  • Other household essentials specific to each affected area's actual requests

The Outcome

Households received what they needed, when they needed it — with nothing left unused or duplicated, because the request came before the response.

What we're really asking you to invest

Stories like Tuan Deraman's and En Syam's aren't measured only in ringgit. What's exchanged — a smile recognized across repeat visits, a family welcoming strangers into their home, time spent over a meal with someone you just met — isn't something a budget line captures. These are qualities and values exchanged between two parties, not simply given by one to the other.

We believe this is what makes The Impact Conduit worth being part of: not just moving money efficiently, but building something that holds real, human value on both sides.

That said, none of this runs on goodwill alone. Coordinating it — the visits, the verification, the follow-through — takes real time, manpower, and cost. If you're a funder or supporter who can help with any of these, you're welcome in this community.

This is the standard for every project here

Whether you're sponsoring, volunteering, supporting with time and resources, or listing your own project, this is the level of tracking and follow-through — and the kind of relationship — you can expect.
